Kerala Government Veterinary Officers Association (KGVOA), an unrelenting force in annals of the service history of Animal Husbandry Department, Govt.of Kerala, is a registered service organization representing the Veterinary Doctors working in the Animal Husbandry Department. On 26th December 2013, the erstwhile service organisations “Kerala State Veterinary Surgeons Service Association (KVSSA)” representing Veterinary Surgeons and “Animal Husbandry Officers Association (AHOAK)” representing cadres from Assistant Directors to Director made a historic decision to align together in a common platform and formed KGVOA. The organization was baptized by fire as it led an agitation, just four days after its establishment, demanding implementation of the Gita N Potty Commission Report and was daring enough to lead a 10 day dies-non, strike from 22nd February to 2nd March 2016 forcing the Government to finally approve the report as per GO (MS) No 9/2016/AHD dated 29/3/16. KGVOA represents all members from Veterinary Surgeon to the Director of Animal Husbandry Kerala. Ever since its inception KGVOA has been and continues to be in the forefront representing the interests of the Veterinary Community in general and safeguarding and promoting their service interests in particular.
